Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun gets arrested over Hyderabad stampede case that left woman dead, son critical

Telugu film actor Allu Arjun has been arrested by the police in connection with a stampede at the premiere of his film Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad on December 4. The news comes just a day after he had appealed High Court to grant him relief. The news has come as a shock for his fans while the movie continue to wreak havoc at the box office.

Allu Arjun gets arrested

The actor was picked up from his residence on Friday morning and has been taken to the Chikkadpally police station. More details are awaited.

What happened at Sandhya Theatre?

Recently, on 4th December 4 at Sandhya Theatre, a large crowd had gathered to see the actor. A 39-year-old woman, Revathi, tragically died from asphyxiation, while her eight-year-old son was hospitalised. After the incident a case was registered again the actor by the victim’s husband.

When Allu Arjun paid Rs 25 lakhs as compensation

In a video on X, the actor announced paying ₹25 lakh aid to the family of a woman who lost her life. He wrote, “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey.”

Amid all this, Pushpa 2 has emerged as fastest movie to enter 1000 crore club. It entered it in less than a week beating Baahubali 2 and RRR. Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles.
